The Junior Medical Reserve Corp (JMRC) is openly recruiting for the 2012-2013 school year. This is a partnership with the Adult Medical Reserve Corp, The Flagler County Health Department, and the Flagler County School Board (under the office of Student Services). The JMRC group provides the students with opportunities to volunteer with professionals in the medical field (and other related fields) and gain valuable experiences that they will be able to utilize throughout their lifetime. The goal of the Junior MRC is to identify, recruit, and train the students in the areas of emergency response. JRMC can assist students with completing required volunteer hours, as they receive training in emergency preparedness. Participation in the JMRC will ensure volunteer opportunities that will utilize their learned skills and given talents during MRC community health outreach events and emergency response events. There are certain requirements to become a part of the group, such as a minimum of twelve hours of training (introductory and emergency preparedness) in order to qualify as a responder to an incident.
